Your child's safety is very important to us. We conduct a thorough background check on every volunteer in our mentoring programs and every mentor has hours of training before they are even matched with a child. We also provide continuing training at least 4 times a year.
We’ll work closely with you because your input is important. Not only do you provide information about your child’s strengths and needs, but you approve the selection of the Mentor we have trained. Once the match is made, parents remain closely involved by encouraging your child to communicate with their mentor and keep appointments. We have trainings just for you, to enhance your child’s mentoring experience.
“I was nervous about my daughter having a mentor, but when they explained the background checks and told me I would know who it was ahead of time, that made it way easier. I am so glad I decided it was O.K. because Lisa has had done so many neat things with Karen and she just seems happier.” – Mentee mom from Rutland County |
